The Lady Leopards open up district play with a win over Highland Park.

Sydney Provence gets the win in the opener and Celeste Soliz took care of the catching duties behind the plate. Provence improves to 9-2 on the season and 1-0 in district. The defense was solid behind Provence and the Leopard bats were on fire from the beginning.

Despite giving up 2 runs in the top of the first, the Lady Leopards answered back with a 10 run 1st inning. Walks, hit by pitch, and 7 hits contributed to the big inning.

The Scots were held to 2 runs until the top of the 5th. They answered with 3 runs, but the Leopards continued to roll. The 3 runs in the third inning along with the back to back home runs by Harleigh Bettis and Delaney DiCristofaro, sealed the fate for the Scots and the Lady Leopards run ruled in 5 innings.

Harleigh Bettis – 2 hits including a home run, 2 runs, 2 RBI, 1 stolen base
Delaney DiCristofaro – 2 hits including a home run, 2 runs, 2 RBI
Carlee Schaeffer – 1 hit, 1 run, 2 sacs, 1 walk, 1 stolen base
Holly Massey – 1 run, 1 RBI, 1 walk

The Lady Leopards go back to work on Friday against West Mesquite @ West Mesquite.
