The Lovejoy Boys and Girls powerlifting teams traveled to North Forney High School to compete in the North Forney Invitational Meet. Ally Carraway led the girls with a first place finish in the 148 pound class with PRs (personal records) in all three lifts. She had a 735 pound total, and was also awarded lifter of the meet under 165 pounds.
On the boys side Hunter Smith set PRs in all three lifts and had a 615 total in the 132 pound class. Ryan Collins set PRs in all three lifts and finished fourth. He had a total of 785 in the 148 pound class. Also in the 148s Ethan Cowan set PRs in squat and deadlift with a total of 685. Brock Prengler had a great showing winning his first meet of the year in the 220 pound class. He improved his total to 1345 pounds and set PRs in squat and deadlift. James Rainey competed in his first meet of the year in the 220 pound class. He finished 5th and had a 1100 pound total. James Ayers competed in his first meet of the year in the 114 pound class. He finished first and had a total of 810. He was also awarded lifter of the meet in all weight classes below 165.
Over all the Leopard boys finished fifth out of 15 teams. They all competed well and set many personal records. The boys and girls are off for two weeks and will go to their next meet on February 10 at Ft. Worth Castleberry.
