Lovejoy fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 5-0 loss to Sherman on Tuesday.
Sherman scored two runs in the first and fifth innings and 1 run in the sixth.
A double by Ralph Rucker in the second inning was a positive for Lovejoy. Rucker went 2-3 on the night. Kolby Branch and Luke Stine each had a his as well.
B. Bentsen earned the win for Sherman. He lasted seven innings, allowing four hits and zero runs.
Michael DiFiore took the loss for Lovejoy. He allowed four hits and three runs over four innings, striking out three.

Lovejoy is now 18-6 on the season and 7-3 in district.
