Lovejoy Varsity Baseball took home an 8-3 victory over Wylie East on Wednesday.
Wylie East opened up scoring in the second inning, when Kaiden Lubojacky doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.
Lovejoy scored 4 runs in the bottom of the third inning on back to back doubles by Zach Smith and Ralph Rucker, Michael DiFiore singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, and Finn homered on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs. The Leopards answered again in the fourth inning scoring 3 runs on Luke Stine’s 3 run home run putting the game out of reach.
Jordan Yoder toed the rubber for Lovejoy. He lasted five innings, allowing eight hits and two runs while striking out four and walking one.
Lovejoy finished the game with ten hits. Rucker, DiFiore, and Finn all collected multiple hits for Lovejoy. Rucker went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead in hits.

Lovejoy varsity baseball improves to 8-1 on the season and 1-0 in district play.
