Lovejoy Varsity Baseball Clinches Lead In Fifth Inning For Victory Over Sherman

Lovejoy varsity baseball nabbed the lead late in the game in a 6-2 victory over Sherman on Friday. The game was tied at one with Lovejoy batting in the top of the fifth when Jordan Yoder singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run to take the lead for good.

The Leopards tallied three runs in the seventh inning. The big bats were led by Yoder and Zach Smith, all driving in runs in the inning.

Nathon Fallon earned the win for Lovejoy. He allowed four hits and one run over three and two-thirds innings, striking out seven. Luke Finn threw three and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Finn recorded the last ten outs to earn the save.

Lovejoy racked up eight hits on the day. Luke Stine, Smith, and Yoder each collected multiple hits.

Next up for the varsity team will be today at 4:30 vs McKinney North at McKinney North. Come out a cheer us on.
