Stine’s Walkoff Picture Perfect Ending In Lovejoy Varsity Baseball’s Victory Over North Forney
A walk-off home run led Lovejoy past North Forney 14-13 on Thursday. The game was tied at 13 with the Leopards batting in the bottom of the seventh when Luke Stine hit a game winning solo homer.
Lovejoy who was led by Jordan Yoder who went 4-for-5 at the plate, singled in the third, doubled in the fourth, singled in the fifth, and singled in the sixth.
After North Forney scored five runs in the top of the fifth, Lovejoy Varsity answered with five of their own, when Yoder singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run and Stine hit a grand slam bringing the Leopards within two.
Yoder earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound. He surrendered zero runs on zero hits over one inning, striking out one and walking zero. Michael DiFiore, Nathan Fallon, and Cameron Pool all put in work on the pitcher’s mound in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.
Thompson took the loss for North Forney. He allowed two hits and one run over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one and walking zero.
Jacob Eschler started the game for Lovejoy. He allowed four hits and three runs over three innings, striking out three. .
Lovejoy totaled 18 hits. Yoder, Stine, DiFiore, Luke Howell, and Ralph Rucker all collected multiple hits.

The Leopards are 14-11 on the season and 4-5 in district. Lovejoy travels to North Forney on Saturday… Game time 11:00am.
