Lovejoy Varsity Baseball put up six runs in the third on its way to a 9-1 victory over Longview on Thursday. The offensive firepower was led by Luke Finn, Zach Smith, and Ben Nopper, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Cameron Pool was on the pitcher’s mound for Lovejoy. He went five innings, allowing one run on one hit and striking out five.
Keaton King was on the mound for Longview. He allowed nine hits and nine runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out four.
The leopards racked up nine hits. Jordan Yoder, Smith, Nopper, and Finn all managed multiple hits for Lovejoy.
Lovejoy improves to 8-2 on the season. Next up for the Leopards is Hallsville.
