Teams:
Teams may run up to 10 runners in Varsity divisions.  Teams may run an unlimited number of runners in JV and Middle School divisions. Small schools may run/register in large school varsity division. No unattached runners allowed – must represent a high school team per UIL Rules.

Parking & Course Maps
Lovejoy XC Fall Festival 2018 Bus Parking Instructions

Bus Parking Gate Open at 6:00 AM
Please do not arrive before 6:00 AM to allow our volunteers to be ready for buses.

Buses are to enter the park on the north side of the park.  At 7:15 AM we will shut down the bus entrance road .  After that you will have to enter at the showbarns, park behind them in the bus parking lot, and walk your teams to the camp sites.  The entrance available before 7:15 AM crosses the racecourse and racing will begin at 7:30 – therefore we must close this entrance at 7:15 AM.

If you arrive before 7:15 AM to drop teams off at team camp area, please pull forward as far as possible – all the way to the restrooms just south of the camp area – this will allow as many teams to drop off as well. If you stop your bus without pulling forward as far as you can, you will slow down the unloading process. Please be considerate with this process. Thank you.

Once you unload your teams you will pull forward and park in the Bus Parking Lot.

We are expecting a large turn out, so in parking your buses please park as close as you dare so we have spots for all.  We will have volunteers assisting with bus parking.

From Lake Forest, turn right onto CR 166 and left on CR 168.  Park entrance will be at the gate off 168.

We expect the Bus Parking Lot to reach full capacity at some point – once this happens please take a look at the map on where to park in the Overflow Bus Parking area in front of the show barn area. There will be a horse show taking place at the show barns so please park in the designated area for overflow parking or following our bus parking volunteer directions.

Teams Arriving after 7:15 AM
Teams arriving after 7:15 AM will need to enter using the orange route on the below parking map. If bus parking lot is full you will be directed to park in the overflow bus parking area. Once parked you will need to walk your teams to the team camp area.

Picking Up Teams/Leaving the Park:
Teams needing to leave before the meet is concluded (ex. before middle school races are completed) will need to walk teams to the Bus Parking lot to load team buses. Buses will need to exit near the showbarn area from the bus parking lot. Buses will not be allowed to drive near the team camp area until ALL race divisions are completed (including middle school races) – this is because we cannot have buses crossing the race course while races are taking place.

Once ALL race divisions are completed buses may drive to team camp area and pick up teams to exit gate that was available before 7:15 AM.


From Lake Forest Drive please instruct your parents and fans to proceed to FM 1461 and turn right onto CR 165.  From 165 turn right on CR 168.  Spectator parking will be at the top of the hill on the west side of the park.  By doing this we will alleviate the congestion for the buses.  Signs will be present to direct traffic.  NO PARKING ALONG THE ROADWAY! Police will be present to make sure this does not happen.

Trainers/Ice/Water
We will have three athletic trainers and student trainers available. We will also have two paramedics and ambulance on site.

Our training staff has asked each team do the following:
Please bring training equipment for each of your teams in regards to pre-race wrapping etc. They will be attending mainly to those who need support after a race finishes.

Please consider bringing your own team ice for post-race needs. Our trainers will bring as much ice as possible but keep in mind this will be a very large event.

Please consider bringing your own water for your team camps. We will have 9 portable water dispensers near the finish area – No cups at the finish area.


Meet T-Shirts: Meet T-Shirts will be for sale the day of the meet near the the park pavilion near just east of the starting line and near the team camp area. Fine Designs will be on site to make custom t-shirts per the runners choosing. Tell your runners to bring money for T-Shirts!


Hotel Info:
There are several hotels to choose from in the DFW area for teams traveling to compete. Lovejoy coaches recommend these two hotels for teams traveling. Both hotels are located near several restaurants and shopping within walking distance.

Concession stand will be selling snacks and drinks. All items only $1! – Located at park pavilion

Kona Ice will also be on site selling Snow Cones.
