Game Recap

The JV Black team played an exciting match Tuesday night against the Highland Park Scots. In the first set, Leopards came out on fire and got into a rhythm offensively to win 25-11. The Scots responded in the second set by serving aggressive and playing to their strengths. In the end, the Leopards outlasted the Scots due in part to consistent offense by the outside hitters and effort plays by the defense. Lovejoy looks to finish out district play undefeated by traveling to Wylie East this Friday night in search of another win.

Game Recap

The Lovejoy Varsity fought hard against the Scots of Highland Park in a tough 3 to 1 set victory which clinched the District 15-5A title for Lovejoy. The Leopards got off to a slow start in set one losing 23-25. The Leopards till struggling to find their way in set 2 but fought through it to pull off an exciting 29-27 win. Senior Rachel Langs absolutely dominated the net with 15 kills on 26 attempts and no hitting errors in addition to 5 huge blocks. Allie Moger contributed in the middle as well with 7 kills and Junior outside hitter Madison Waters added 9. Senior setter Annabelle Archer led the team in assists with 39 and Senior libero Shanel Bramschreiber stepped up in the 3rd and 4th sets to lead the defense in digs and serve receive. The Leopards will travel to Wyle East this Friday with only 2 matches left in district play and look to finish the season undefeated.

Game Recap

The 8th-grade Black team beat Ereckson 36-0 Tuesday night. The Leopards played great in all phases of the game. The defense scored twice from two interceptions returned for touchdowns and got the shutout. The special teams had a punt return for a touchdown and were excellent in the kickoff coverage. The offense scored two touchdowns and had several good drives down the field.

Game Recap

The 8th grade Red team beat Ereckson 8-6 Tuesday night. After a scoreless first half, Ereckson took the lead in the third quarter but missed their extra point when the ball hit the upright. Late in the fourth quarter, the Leopard offense drove down the field and came up with a touchdown on 4th and long. The extra point was successful and ended up being the difference in the game as the Leopard defense came up with a big stop on Ereckson’s final drive.

Game Recap

The Lady Leopards started out in a close match against the Lady Scots in their district match at Highland Park Tuesday night. Both teams fought for points and kept it even until Brooke Hill’s aggressive serving helped the Lady Leopards pull away. In the second half of the first set, Lovejoy outscored Highland Park 14-2. Lovejoy wasted no time in the second set getting out to an early 15-4 lead behind Ashlyn White’s serving. The Lady Leopards move to 12-0 in district and 22-5 overall. They have two more district matches, the next being at Wylie East, Friday, October 20.

Game Recap

The Lovejoy Varsity fought hard against the Forney Jackrabbits on Friday night and came out with a 3-0 sweep. The Leopards started fast and never looked back. Senior Rachel Langs absolutely dominated the net with 19 kills on 26 attempts and no hitting errors in addition to 6 huge blocks. Allie Moger contributed in the middle as well with 8 kills and 2 blocks. Junior outside hitter dished out 11 kills which contributed to the team kill count of 48 in 3 sets. Libero Shanel Bramschreiber defended the back row with constant reads and effort plays, giving the Leopards many opportunities to score.

Lovejoy is back at it Tuesday night at Highland Park at 6:30 pm to continue their final push for another District Championship.
