Tuesday night didn’t go as planned. For the second consecutive game, the boys didn’t score first, and for the second consecutive game, fell to some tough breaks, succumbing to Wylie East, 4-1. While the first 20 minutes seemed promising, the Leopards could not take advantage of the possession and field space that they earned, and it was the Raiders that drew blood first, scoring on a penalty kick. While our boys had multiple quality chances to level the score and possibly take the lead in the 1st 40 minutes, nothing came of it, and LHS went to half down 1-0. A tough night turned worse in the 2nd, as the Leopards conceded 3 more goals to East. A late goal by Benji Merrick was all the boys could muster tonight, although they created multiple opportunities.
The JV boys played in the early game at 5:30, coming back from a 0-1 deficit to tie Wylie East 1-1. It was the first blemish on the JV district record, but points were gained nonetheless.
Both teams will look to get back to their winning ways on Friday, as they welcome Denison to Leopard stadium. Kickoff will be at 5:30 and 7:15.
