Girls Junior Varsity Soccer, Girls Varsity Soccer · Girls Soccer vs. Naaman Forest

Tuesday night the Junior Varsity Girls Soccer Team tied Naaman Forest 1-1 in cold and windy conditions. Going with the wind, in the first half, the Leopards took the lead after a goal from a free kick by Amiya Callicutt. Against the wind, in the second half, Naaman Forest tied the game early on. The JV held on to the result the rest of the way and even had some chances of their own. The tie moves the JV team’s record to 6-2-2.

The Varsity team beat Naaman Forest 1-0 after Jessie Maashio scored from close range with the assist coming from Tatum Chester. This was the Varsity team’s third clean sheet in a row. The back four did an outstanding job handling the tough conditions and restricting our opponent’s chances in the second half when we were against the wind. Kamri McKnight and Hailey Downing were solid in goal, comfortably saving everything that came their way. The win moves the Varsity team’s record to 7-1-1.

Our next game is on Friday, January 25th, at The Colony at 5:30/7:15.
