Leopards News · Despite Putting the Ball in Play, JV Softball Falls to North Forney

The Lady Leopard JV has shown unbelievable improvement in putting the ball in play each game in district.  Today, they made the North Forney JV work to get outs.  North Forney committed 6 errors and Lovejoy was able to capitalize in scoring runs.

On the flip side, North Forney was able to get the extra base hits to score 9 runs on 4 hits.  Lovejoy only made 1 error all game, which is significant improvement as well, over the course of the season.  Lovejoy scored 6 runs on 2 hits.  The runs were scored by Madison Kohl, Shae Mater, Madeline Robinson, Liliah Garcia, and twice by Tessa Salcedo-Garcia.

The JV have truly shown great strides over the season.  Last night, the JV was down 0-5 against Wylie East, and were able to come back to tie the game 5-5.  Previously against Wylie East, the girls were unable to get an offensive stand going to score more than 1 run.  Despite the lightning delay, the girls fought hard and worked together to come from behind to tie.

The JV will continue district play on Tuesday against Mesquite Poteet at Lovejoy.
