Each week the Lovejoy Athletic Department will feature the outstanding contributions from a member of our coaching staff.  We appreciate the time, dedication, and the leadership that they invest in our student-athletes.  This week’s Spotlight is on ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Cross Country and Track coach, Carly Littlefield.

High School Attended: Grove High School

College Attended: Lamar University, M. Ed.

How many years have you coached and what schools have you coached at? 14 years.  Allen High School, Frisco Heritage High School, and Lovejoy High School.

How many years have you coached in Lovejoy?  2 years

What sports do you coach?  Track and Field and Cross Country

What coaching awards have you received?  District Coach of the Year 2012, 2013, and 2014.

What is the best part of coaching in Lovejoy?  Great kids.  Great support.

What is one of your most memorable moments in coaching?  My Track and Field Team winning the Regional Championship, my girls Cross Country team qualifying to State, coaching a 3 time State Champ, my daughter winning Nationals in the 1500 meter run.

Who is your favorite athlete and why?  My daughter, Kailey. She works as hard as any athlete I have ever coached. She listens, she’s driven, and she is a true competitor.

What do you like to do outside of work?  Hang out with my family, run, water ski, read.

What is the best part of being a coach?  Being able to push kids to their limits and watch them achieve successes and reach goals they never imagined they would.
