The 10th Annual Lovejoy Elite Camp finished this Thursday with incoming 7th – 9th graders working towards developing skill and learning the Lovejoy system of basketball.
Head basketball coach Kyle Herrema was very pleased with the tremendous work ethic and attitude of the nearly 80 campers. “It is always exciting to see the future of the program during the summer camp. I was really impressed with the improvement in shot mechanics and the kids really bought into our offensive and defensive philosophy.”
Practice was broken down into shooting mechanics, fundamental stations, and offensive and defensive system implementation.
As always the camp featured a blend of Lovejoy coaches and former players. Lovejoy’s coaching staff was represented by Seth Vansell, Chris Osborne, and Andrew Blom and former Lovejoy players Erik Abramson and Braden Ledebur showed great energy and knowledge of the game.
It was a great week of camp and we look forward to the start of basketball season!
