The Lady Leopards Varsity Golf Team competed this weekend in the Tiger Classic, hosted by Texarkana High School. This was a two day event held at the beautiful Texarkana Country Club. The golf course was in great condition. It is a favorite of mine, and the most difficult course the ladies will play all year. It was a real test of the girls game. This is one of the best tournaments all year. The competition level makes the Tiger Classic as tough as the state tournament. Several 5A and 6A top 10 teams in the state competing here.
This was a great experience for the ladies. Being their first time to see this course I think they were quite nervous about it. All the girls had some good moments and bad. I feel they learned a great deal about how to handle playing a tougher golf course. That was my goal for this tournament for the girls was to experience something new and difficult.
The Leopards finished 9th out of 14 teams competing this weekend. We shot team total 387 on day one. Team captain Allie Bianchi lead the way with an 86. Katie Dragoo shot 89. Mallory Sailer shot 105. Savanna Roulette shot 106. Annie Dale shot 107. Kendall Sailer shot 112.
