The Leopard softball team competed in the McKinney ISD Tournament this weekend, and were able to play contests at all three McKinney ballparks. These parks are some of the most well-kept fields in the state, and the tournament is always run well. It is hosted by: Alicia Crawford (McKinney Head Coach) and her assistant, Tyler Elders.

At McKinney HS, the Leopards beat Frisco Reedy 11-0 (5) & McKinney High 11-0 (5).

At McKinney North, the Leopards faced Paris North Lamar for the third time this season. The Pantherettes are expected to be a Final Four team this season in 4A, but the Leopards were able to win 7-5 in a tough contest.

At McKinney Boyd HS, the Leopards faced off against Red Oak & Greenville. The Leopards defeated Red Oak 17-0 (5), and then won the second game of their doubleheader against Greenville 19-2 (5).

This was a tremendous final weekend of tournaments for the Varsity squad. The Leopards head into District 15-5A Play with a record of 14-2. Many around the state are referring to 15-5A as the “Little Southeastern Conference” as our district is loaded with talented teams! Currently, 4 teams are ranked in the Top 25 in the state, Lucas Lovejoy, Forney, Mesquite Poteet, and North Forney. Wylie East, Royse City, Highland Park, and West Mesquite are also quality opponents who could make a major impact on the district and the state playoffs! It should make for an exciting seven weeks!

The Leopards will travel to Highland Park on Tuesday, and then will return for their Home Opener on Friday vs. West Mesquite. District Games are at 5:30 (JV) and 7:00 (Varsity).
